Barrel Aged Sloe Gin 002
Distilled, macerated, matured, and bottled on a single site at our distillery on the remote and rugged southeast coast of Tasmania. This barrel aged sloe gin started life with Tasmanian Sloe Berries foraged from rural hedgerows.
With only 270 bottles in our second release, this batch was matured for
9 months in a Tokay cask.
The overall character is smooth & warming with plenty of fruit complexity. Colour is an incredibly deep amber-red flame with good depth & clarity.
First impressions on the nose are of light floral aromas before discovering the deep warming palate of blackberry, cherry and subtle peach, with moderate sweetness of candied fruits, vanilla & toffee. These balance nicely with the barrel’s sweet tokay influence and charred oak.
Much of the gin character has moved to the background with only subtle juniper and cinnamon remaining. The finish is silky & short but with a lasting warmth and lots of smooth fruits to savour.
Best enjoyed neat on cold night, or on ice in warmer weather.

Deliveries will be dispatched from Hellfire Bluff within 48 hours of completed order (Monday-Friday, excluding public holidays) and payment has been received. You’ll receive a notification from Australia Post to let you know your order has been shipped and is on its way to you.
Orders placed outside office hours and weekends will be not processed until the following business day.
