Single Origin, Cool Climate Dark Rum Batch 005
Hellfire Bluff’s Rum Batch 005 is a single origin dark rum crafted on Tasmania’s rugged southeast coast. This limited batch of 222 bottles was fermented, distilled, matured, and bottled on site, with a careful ageing process spanning 3 years and 9 months—starting in American Bourbon oak barrels and finishing in Muscat casks.
The overall character is robust and dark, with creaminess and sweet spice. First impressions on the nose are of a maple and cinnamon cognac. The early palate reveals orange marmalade and dried fig, then evolving to allspice and cardamom. Subtle sweetness is a brown sugar, balancing the deeper crème brûlée and cocoa. The finish is short and clean with only charred cedar lingering.
Best enjoyed neat, or on ice, in a rum glass with a patient moment to let it breathe first.
